Description:

8 point bolt-in full external/internal roll cage. Mounts to the chassis at 6 external points. Internal B hoop mounts at 2 points. Front legs mount through front wings down to chassis outrigger. B hoop mounts to the vehicle floor above chassis outrigger. C hoop ties in to rear door shut assembly. D hoop ties to rear chassis cross member. As per L242 but with an internal B hoop.

Please note that models between 1983 – 1988 had three raised ribs on the roof approx. 22mm (7/8″) tall. This kind of roof does not work with our external roll cages as the hoops will clash with them. Nor will it fit if the rear seat box is stepped in the rear corner. Compatible with Safety Devices ‘Explorer’ Roof Racks for roll cage mount. Compatible with Safety Devices L052 ladder. Available as a full cage only.

We strongly recommend fitting the roll cage padding kit when installing this roll cage.

What do I need to consider before installing a roll cage?

Selecting the right roll cage for your needs is crucial. Safety Devices roll cages are expertly designed to provide maximum occupant protection while minimizing intrusion into the cabin.
It’s important to consider the trade-off between the car’s functionality and the level of rollover protection offered. A roll cage should not interfere with the operation of existing safety systems, such as curtain airbags. These must be disengaged to prevent unintended deployment.
Remember, ‘show cages’ are not true roll cages. A ‘dash dodger’ with a reverse bend (‘S’ shape) in the front leg won’t offer adequate protection for the A-pillar.
For competition use, ensure the roll cage complies with the regulations set by event organisers or governing bodies, such as Motorsport UK.
