DRIVETRIBE Showcases Richard Hammond Behind the Wheel of a 700bhp Defender

Introduction

Richard Hammond has taken on one of the wildest Defenders ever built, a £140,000, 700bhp LS powered monster, in a new DRIVETRIBE feature.

Details

In the video, Hammond revisits the Defender’s humble origins before unleashing this heavily re-engineered 6.2 litre supercharged V8 creation on track, complete with a full internal and external Safety Devices roll cage, adaptive suspension, AP Racing brakes, carbon fibre panels and a chassis rebuilt to cope with its absurd power. Despite wearing the classic Defender silhouette, the result is a hilariously unhinged yet shockingly capable machine that Hammond describes as a brilliantly crafted, very expensive joke brought to life.
