As standard, or unless specified in the product listing, our bolt-in roll cages are provided with black powder coat (colour RAL 9005, MN201D Black Matt Smooth). Our weld-in cages are provided unpainted, but oiled to prevent corrosion.
We offer the option to manufacture bolt-in roll cages in alternative colours, including grey (RAL 7040), silver (RAL 9006S), white (RAL 9010), red (RAL 3020), blue (RAL 5002) or uncoated. Providing the roll cage is undamaged, our expedition roll cages can be transferred to another vehicle of the same model and specification. Please ensure that all components, including under-body brackets, are kept together during the move as these are often misplaced. Some Expedition cages may also require new floor plates to replace those welded to the original shell.
We also strongly recommend replacing the nuts, bolts, and washers for optimum safety. Replacement fitting kits can be obtained through our Spares and Accessories shop.

We recommend that all internal components of the roll cage be covered with padding, with particular emphasis on protecting high-impact areas, such as those above the shoulders and around the head.

What is a roll cage or ROPS?

A roll cage or ROPS (Roll Over Protection System) is an internal or external structure installed on a vehicle, designed to protect vehicle occupants by preserving survival space during a rollover incident.

What are your roll cages made of?

The majority of Safety Devices roll cages are manufactured from E355+N Cold Drawn Seamless Carbon Steel. On a number of our internationally homologated weld in roll cages, we also offer T45 as an alternative material. More exotic materials (Chromoly, 15CDV6, Titanium) can also be used in some applications providing regulations allow, however the material costs of these can be significantly higher than E355+N or T45.
